What is it?

Windows 2000, and Windows NT both ship with the improper ANSI text mode colors. This is because Microsloth, in their infinite wisdom, used the incorrect method for creating the colors. There method takes each RGB value in a scope of 0-255, and halves/quarters it as needed. These are incorrect! The proper full value is: 252, the proper half value is: 168 and the proper quarter value is: 84. This is demonstrated in the table below.

To make things easier on everyone, all you have to do is setup the default colors right? Right. This involves a registry tweak. Don't be afraid...

Installation

1. Double click on the FixANSIColors.reg File to merge it with your registry

NOTE: IF you are paranoid, edit it and make sure it's all good first.

The default Win2000/NT telnet never looked better.. I've included a better Console Icon as well. It contains the elite 16x16x16c default, plus one of my own hacked design (which looks alot cooler than the 32x32x16c default)..
