The mother of my Bastard doesn't love me ;)

Ok... so I went to the love corner and started hitting on a NPC. Very funny! Anyway, we get intimate and a child is conceived - then born. It's branded a *bastard* - most unfortunate.

I've done everything I can to get this NPC character to love me so we can get married and still nothing works. I've sent chocolate, flowers, the works. It's kinda like real life, you know? The harder you try the less it works.

Anyway - since this is a game and NOT real life - are there any strategies that work in the Love Corner?

After re-reading my post I can see why I have not gotten a response. Let me rephrase my question and be a little more technical:

Are there any proven strategies in the game logic to improve relations with NPCs?

Besides the birthday, cupid arrows, which pick players and NPC's randomly, there IS NO proven way to get an NPC tolove you.
Especially if you have done anything at tall o get them to hate you.
Even if you do, they may leave you the very next day.
