I want to say Usurper is an awesome game, and it's great that its creator still takes interest and updates it! Since you do update it, Jake, there are some things that I'd like to bring up and maybe I'll be fortunate enough to see fixed!

There are lots of problems with Beg for Mercy.

Most important: they ALWAYS beg for mercy. I think this is a SERIOUS bug. Can a player turn off Beg For Mercy in their settings, or can it be lessened somehow? I'm tired of being killed by - and robbed by - weaker players, who only beat me because I begged for mercy. Here is an example of me attacking an NPC to show this bug:

As you can see here, first of all, Grismal had more HP than me. My attack barely hurt him, his attack nearly killed me. And yet... he still begged for mercy.

My attack should have killed him. He should be dead, how can he beg for mercy?

Anyway, the biggest problem is this: if a player quits in the dorm or inn, anyone can kill him through \"Beg for Mercy.\" If he quits at home, it is impossible to attack him. Both atlernatives are BAD!

1) Going to the inn, trying to join a team, and leaving the password blank will crash the game.

2) I've also experienced that when I challenge someone to an online duel, while waiting for his response, if a ghost talks to me through my \"inner ear,\" the game crashes.

3) Also, during online duels, I don't think healing should count as your move. It gives too much advantage to the player who attacks first, because then the other player always has to heal instead of attacking back.

I have a AMD Athelon XP 2200+ running at 1.8Ghz with 1 Gig of ram on Win XP. Anyway while running the maintenance it hogs alot of CPU clocks and takes a while for each percentage point. Dunno if this is something you are aware of but thought I'd pass it on.

Also is a Win32 version in the works? Just wondering it could possibly nip the maintenance problem in the butt. Or possibly changing the NPC maint algorythem. Also is anyone porting Usurper as an Online Website game? Just curious. Thanks again Jacob!

Maintenance takes way too long to be tolerable with version d for me. Version c is normal though!

Not sure if someone has reported this already.. but when in some places (like when your gona drop items.) he adds a space so you have to erase it before you can get out of that meny.

If you get killed when fighting the Rugwars troll group on a mission in the dungeons, after you die it says \"You shake hands with Rodrik and wish him good luck blah blah blah (Don't forget your mission!) and then logs you off because you're dead.

I'd think that if you're die there you should either not be on the mission, or it should tell you later, e.g. at logon.

Or maybe at least some alternate text that doesn't describe you shaking hands and such.

I noticed when your part of a team and have control over the GYM, you have to reapply if you quit your team. Having that happen to me, I was thinking maybe there can be a config option which allows the sysop to have anyone join a gym without asking for access and if you part your team, maybe you can still retain your membership .

I found out.. at like level 5-10 or so.. It makes no difference when pickpocketing a higher level char.

I.e

me level 10 pickpocket gold from a lvl 95 NPC

I succseed.(spells?) and get anywhere from 10 to 30 million gold.

Kinda unbalanced. Should be stopped somehow.

Mabye a max 10 levels over you as in the dungeon?

I left you some suggestions in the game on your BBS. And BTW, you show running 0.20d version as well. There are SYSOP options that can limit the pick-pocketing. Some SYSOP's do not allow the NPC's to Stay in the Dorm at all because of this..

Yeah, im going to post a vore for people on the streettalk. And so they can vote yes or no for pickpocketing. As i see it.. it kinda.. \"ruins\" the game. In a way. yes its part of the game.. but well.. Ill have my users vote.

as you wish... In case you haven't noticed I'm still a mere 1st level with 300Mil. Though I only really needed about 3mil to play my game. That's why I sent Gold to most starters as well. I hate starting with only 10,000 gold pieces. I've already got my weapons and armor as well.
