Usurper: A godly player

This player in the Usurper game that I play has the ability to rule the entire game with an iron fist. He can do anything on a whim, but luckily he seems to have no desire to do so. He doesn't take over the gym, or the town control, or the throne for some reason, just lets the rest of the players fight for it all even though he could sneeze at the king and dethrone him. He could take out our best gang in a heartbeat. I'm just glad he lets the rest of the players have fun with the game too. I just have one question... how is this guy so insanely good? Here are his stats, his name is Lord Sargeras and the version I play is Usurper .20d. Oh yeah and he drinks his own personal drink called the \"Dark Lord\" six times a day and the guy at Orb's says the recipe is a secret in case that has anything to do with it.



P.S. I love looking at this site, I hope you're successful in getting rid of those annoying ad-bots.

He could be the SysOp. A lot of SysOp's (myself included) love to play the games they host. It lets us interact with our callers, and keep an eye on the game in case cheating or abuse is occuring as well as have some fun. However, if they get too powerful and go on the offensive then other players may consider it cheating on the SysOps part. So, a lot of us play the games in a very passive manner so as not to draw the ire of the other players. For us, knowing you _could_ rule the entire game is as good as actually doing it.

Thanks for the reply. I would whole-heartedly agree with what you said, but I know for a fact that he's not the SysOp. I'm just lost in the numbers when I look at his stats...not really worried about it since he leaves almost everyone but the NPCs alone, but just curious to his secret. He plays on telnet://bbs.darksideresearch.com/ in Usurper .20d game 2 if anyone wants to come play or check it out.

Yer right that that character has high Hitpoints. If you watch you may find that he ends most days attempting to Kill the Supreme Being, and fails. At that level he is probably drinking the drinks provided that increase hitpoints. Not much of a secret though. The tough part is that the supreme beings Hitpoints and Strength are determined by the chalengers attributes. He may have reached a point where it would be harder for him to actually kill the supreme being.

I haven't played at darkside for quite a while, but I enjoyed the game there.

As to the forum spammers, I've let Jakcob know about that situation, before I left on vacation.
