It appears the forum was hit by a spamm robot by the name of Sara30.
I may be wrong, and if I am, MY apologies. I reviewed Sara30's 5 messages. None of them could be called on topic for the threads they were attached to, so I have already deleted them.
Stamp1000, as well as several others also appear to be robots. If one checks their websites, they often wind up phony or casino related. Also e-mailaddresses don't check out.

As in this time, I wll be watching messages closely to delete ones that are really NOT on topic of the thread.

All questions or comments are invited.

My Axe is SHARP and at the ready, CHOP CHOP!!

I axed another 5 or 6 off topic messages that have appeared in the last 24 hours.
Erotica, Prescription drugs, gambling casino's and such.
Nothing to do with Usurper.

SInce 8/27 I've axed another 100 bogus messages.
This almost as boring as meeting the supreme being 100 times and losing each and every time. Being stuck at level 100 you can't even go into the dungeons and kill a few varied thugs. I really like killing Balrog's of all types, as back in the 80's before Usurper, I was fighting Balrog's and they were especially nasty, along with various types of Dragons. I may see if I can run one of tose old programs on XP.

OFF TOPIC deletions

Here it is July 2009, and I lost count of the number of Off-Topic Messages and members
attached to them, that I have deleted. I typically now judge the message by the title and
Member profile that posted it. If the member says hey are from the Virgin Islans, but their ISP
is in Lativa, That raises a Flag.
I don't "look" at each and every message, as I have had problems with contents and embedded
content causing problems on my computer. I do look at where the member logged in from,
email addresses, and other item that I can research on the internet. I also routinely delete
inactive members that have not validated their account, by a certain amount of time.

If you are occasionaly logging in and just reading messages, and/or Posting
ON Topic of Usurper,
I will not unnecessrily delete your account.

you can manually validate users or make sure they have to validate their email address before posting.
that would help a lot

Thanks. We have it set that they must validate their email address before they are granted full membership and ability to post messages. About 10 to 15 a week get past that, and 3 or 4 post. They like to use gmail.com which apparently does not require much validation for new email addresses. Of the ones that don't validate their emails, 35 so far since 12:00.01 AM Monday morning. When I check email, IP & usernames, I use www.stopforumspam.com/ which tracks forum spammers. If I find them there, I delete them outright. If they are not there, nut post garbage, they are deleted. This year I have banned over 900 IP addresses and several IP Blocks, as well as several email domains.
