what version of Usurper do you have installed?
I looked for your Usurper message base on your website and was unable to locate it.

The "hard" mode is without a doubt the easiest version of Usurper I've ever played.

While I'd agree... I kept getting stuck in the inventory menu. When I'd go to equip a weapon or unequip, it like... double spaced me into an extra line and I couldn't do anything but X the telnet window.
Supwi'dat!?

Interesting, I've not ran into this problem yet. I'll take a look. What telnet program are you using? Mtelnet?

Currently, the game is set to 9 difficulty. I can bump it up to 10 if players think it is still too easy.

Ok folks, I'll throw this out and see if it means anythying to anyone. If you don't have the foggiest idea, don't worry. I won't hold it against you. Back when I was earning real money for my programming skills(that's debatable, like my grammar and spelling),
we were using VT-52 or VT-100 keyboards. As I recall(and I can't remember which one was which, one of them sent a ctrl-m when enter or return was pressed, and seems like the other one sent a double character ctrl-m and ctrl-l when enter was pressed. Ctrl-m is the ascii for carriage return, and Ctrl-l is the ascii for line feed. On the fantastistic computers I worked with, everything was pre IBM PC Compatibles. I used a DEC VT-52 because I worked on a DEC PDP-11/73 for about 15 years.
How does this relate, you ask?
Well my favorite telnet program is Net Term v4.2c that is about 8 years old. It is set to send ctrl-m when enter is pressed. I liked it because it allowed me to send macro's, or non-standard ascii characters into places it was harder to do otherwise. I mostly use SynncTERM 0.8 now, and I can't confirm(right at this moment) what it sends when I press enter. But needless, I can tell that I don't get the double character when logged into most telnet sites. Seems like there is also a question asked at some bbs's, regarding this when setting up user accounts.
Needless to say, I beleive that is part of the problem being seen. I believe we discussed this
ad-nausium several or many years ago.
I haven't even programmed my DVD recorder in the last few years except for some refreshing with Borland Pascal, but that doesn't directly relate.
Now aren't you really sorry you read my reply?

I have the same exact problem with it putting an extra space when working with the inventory screen. I don't know anything about keyboards manufactured in the 1800's or returning specially designed horse carriages, but I did figure out that if you press the backspace once it will allow you to enter your menu selection.

Thank You, StormRunner.
I think I lost sight of the forest, for all the trees in the way.
I look forward to hearing of results when those suffering from this
malidy, follow your suggestion, and find it works.

netterm is NOT a good telnet client, not in any way, shape or form!
