Possible to heal NPC teammates?

Is it possible to heal NPC teammates - other than entering a fight. The problem is that they run out of potions in the fight, then replenish them with the monk, but are left with very low hp, so they die in the next fight anyway. Is there a way to get them to heal themselves before entering a fight? Then i can send them more potions so that they are all set when we enter another fight.
