Bug Report/Knitpick Topic

Well, I decided to make a topic for bug reports and knitpicks for the various version of
Usurper out on BBSes right now. If someone wants to Sticky this, feel free. If not, that's fine, too. That's why it's an \"unofficial\" topic.
So. . . High-grade armour. Higher than what you can purchase at the Armour shop. It exists, from what I read. However, it's extremely hard to get ahold of, apparently. Quite possibly, impossible. What can be done about this?
Also, how is it possible that you can't fight someone in the Dormitory or Inn if they're so-many levels below you, but, you can challenge them in an online duel? Additionally, I think first-strike should orient around someone's
agility in an Online Duel. Not who challenged who. I lost to that jackass Level 25 freak that hit me with a Magic Arrow because he got first strike. . . This does not make me happy.
Finally, speaking of Ash, how did he manage to make 444,023,488 Gold in twenty-five levels?
I have only 35,499,254 Gold, myself, and I think that's only because of a combination of my luck, the Level 100 NPCs always carrying expensive weaponry(and sitting on the Beggar's Wall often), and the fact that on rare occasion, they carry a goodly amount of Gold. I smell a SysOp's plotting, myself. . . >_>;
This is all in v0.19, by the way. In v0.18, I haven't had this amount of luck. I've
rarely been able to afford such weapons as Claws of IT for my character on there.
Edit: 'fore I forget. . .

beaten by someone 17 levels below you, how does it feel? I enjoyed selling your stuff...
In addition to ticking me off, he's also a little wrong. See, in Online Duels, if the winner raids the loser, for whatever reason, the loser keeps their stuff. However, the winner apparently also gets duplicates of the loser's raided items. Just thought you should know.

Thanks for the report JC. Very interesting observations

, some of which will lead to code changes.

Got another couple for ya, Jakey.
(L)ove Corner -> (H)ome -> (G)o to Sleep.
I think there should be
some way to be able to track down people who do this instead of going to the Inn, Dorms, or Beggar's Wall. I'd be fun to break into someone's house and zonk them while they slept. . . Even if you had to buy some Lock Picks from some place to do it.
Speaking of the Beggar's Wall. . .I always thought that being able to kill someone, regardless of their level, at the Beggar's Wall, was a little unbalanced. Being able to do so to low-levels, I can understand. . .but being able to do that to a Level 100 character when
you're a Level 1 character? Doesn't that seem just a
tad bit silly to you?
Just some more random knitpicks and stuff. I don't expect you to take
all of my suggestions and use them. . . 'cept for glaring typos and stuff. Those, I do. *grins*

You have no kidnapped children in your cellar!
Go to 'Dark Deeds'! There you can poison and kidnap kids
Um. . .yeah. Every time I kidnap a child, it's thrown to the wolves the next day! I never even transfer it to the Royal Day-Care center! How am I supposed to get any ransom money if the kids I kidnap get eaten by wolves when thrown out by the Royal Day-Care center, even though I never transfered them over there?? By the way. The above code is what came up when I tried to look at my (K)idnapped Children list at (H)ome.

Sorry to double-post like this, but I was getting tired of editing the previous post.
Now. . . Both of my characters' immunity levels are at EXTREME! in both v0.18 and v0.19 of Usurper. And yet. . . Both had night terrors. . .and both contracted smallpox! How the Hell can they get smallpox if they're both almost entirely immune to diseases?! Does that not protect against if someone sends diseases against you, or something? If so, then what's the point in having an immunity system in the game if something can just as easily bypass it? To make matters worse, they both contracted the diseases at the same time! What's up with that?
Edit:
What the Hell?! Now I'm being attacked at home by the NPCs! I'm being attacked, at home, by the freaking NPCs?! How the Hell can they attack me at home when the player characters can't do that?!

Thanks for the report. I will look at these routines tomorrow, and fix what is broken.
Attacking those at home...yes I'm not sure if the NPCs can do that (cheat) but I trust your info

Will check this tomorrow.
I also agree that you somehow should be able to attack those at home. Let me see what can be done.

In regards to the NPC's attacking you Joseph, is your character on a wanted poster prehaps? NPC's seem ruthless in tryuing to claim wanted poster characters, kinda like bounty hunters.

I dont feel the home should be located in sub sub sub \"challenges love corner home\" I spoke to many users playing the game online an they have no idea that they have a home. I feel home should be located in the main menu. I dont beleive going home needs to be a challenge and love corner doesnt mean you want to go home and have sex.

\"this is a repost since it fits here better\"
If you get sent to prison for kidnapping a child, I dont beleive it should exit the game. You should be sent to the prison menu where you can escape or complain etc... also if you ecsape the prison why not be returned to the main streets or in front of the royale guard instead of having to reenter the game. It becomes annoying after a bit

Ya know what's sad? . . .I made that connection myself about, like. . .five minutes after I posted that. >_<;;; I feel so stupid.
And, thanks for stickying the topic, Jake! I'm also more than happy to be of service. I calls'em as I sees'em. Heh.

now that the beer drinking is sped up ... i think the beer stealing should as well... its quick already.. but it could be quicker.. when you have 10 dogs chasin after you it can be anoying.. and i noticed for multi-node when someone is beer drinking and/or beer steeling .. the other nodes slow down drastically.. (and i'm running a decent system..) i dunno..
peace.

also just an idea... i dont know how much work this would be.. ?? ..
but when in the dungeons.. for multi-node systems.. it would be nice to see a key or two assigned to .. (1)who is in the dungeon.. (thus experiencing many people who are with you attacking fiends left right and center..) .. and (2) .. innitiate player battle .. or something of the sorts..
anyways.. just ideas..
but who cares what i think anyways.

The only real problem with a dungeon-based \"Engage Other Players\" selection would be the fact that, say. . . What if someone were on Level 75 of the dungeons, and the other player on Level 39? Normally, you're not allowed to go more than ten levels above your actual player level, and of course, no levels below. In a technical sense, it'd go against game physics. But that's just me being anal, really.

well then it should only show the users within that range of levels.. (that you set.. ) for instance.. if i'm level 42 and buddy is level 51 .. in the dungeons we should be able to see each other... now if someone is level 42 and someone is level 78 in the dungeons.. like you just said.. it wouldn't/shouldn't be possible...
but like i said before.. it may be more work than neccessary.
also found another small bug.. i'm not sure if it is memory related or not.. but its happened twice so far. in the last day or two..
when you are COMBAT TRAINING .. sometimes it just litterally (SPITS like 5 or 6 events at you from npc's or whatever..) and boom the node locks up.. not all the nodes.. just the one that it happened on..
anyone else seen this?
*CORRECTION** .. IT DOES HAPPEN When your combat training.. but it is only affected when you are running \"CLASSSIC MODE\" .. this is very very annoying.. the only way to fix it now is to close the telnet window.. and luckily it doesn't leave the onliners.dat in the node directory.
*CONCLUSION* i discovered that it does not FREEZE the node.. what it does.. when you are at the combat training.. is for some reason (EVERY TIME) .. spits out 6 npc events.. as in *HI* .. or *I NEED GOLD* .. or whatever.. and scrolls down the screen.. so you can still hit any of the keys.. as in (S)traightpunch .. etc.. but i dont get why every time it spits out 6.. always. 6 .. maybe that is a glitch..
also .. i have my multi-node perfectly.. but when i try to send an ITEM to an ONLINE PLAYER .. it says on the remote side.. that (YOU TOOK TO LONG TO RESPOND OR SOMETHING) .. wtF

I've got another, albeit really rude, suggestion. . . I think there should be some sort of really cheap, but really, really expensive way(we're talking upwards of 50,000,000 Gold or so) for high-level players to squish low-level players that piss them off badly enough. If not pricey, then there should be some sort of counter-action that could be taken against them, if level-limits are turned on for whatever game you're playing. Example. . . Yet again, I turn to Ash for this one. Basically, he's just making a general nuisence of himself. He's putting a price on my head over and over and over again, like it does anything unless I die. . .(For some odd reason, in v0.19, NPCs don't really seem to go after players with bounties on their heads. . . Or maybe it's a matter of the fact that all the NPCs are at Level 100.) He's also screwing with the Altar of the god I presently worship, and challenging me to wrestling matches(and winning. Woo, a whole 1,000-some Experience. . .). I think there some be some way you can just slaughter nuisences like that, regardless of how high your level is compared ot theirs.
Also. . . Recently, I bought out the King of the game to my team.(He's an NPC.) Honestly, I have mixed feelings about being able to do such things. You'd think a Monarch, especially one that's already in another team, would stay in their team, or not let themselves be swayed by money, after becoming a Monarch. Just a random thought.
