Is there any way to run the editor remotely? I am using Synchronet and have the bbs setup to run usurper as a door. But I still have to logon to the computer to access the editor. Is there anyway I can do this remotely....ie. editor.exe /n# /pc:\\sbbs\\node%# or something like that.

I tried setting up just the editor.exe as astandard door. It did start the editor, BUT it was displayed only on the SYSTEM Puter in DOSXTRN, the client Puter just saw the gamesrv fossiling out. SOooo I would ask,
Do you have a way of remotely dropping to a DOS shell or DOSXTRN, and then
cd'ing over too the editor, etcetera..??? Or maybe this a place when Netfoss would do the job as well, see KingD's message

I'm sorry for answering a question with a question, but as lenny would say.. \"tyz anayra dunno\"

I'm afraid that you are out of luck. The Editor doesn't have the comm support built into it, which Usurper has.

if i recall correctly *back in the old school BBS days* there was door that you could setup that would let you run to dos... the sysop could set folders that were able to be accessed and not accessed.. etc..
you could run litterally any program.. (keep in mind all programs back then were not graphically inhanced.. ) .. so if you had SHEZ or HDM or EDITOR for usurper.. you could run all these remotely..
so good luck in finding it.. check

The netfoss.dll is in c:\\windows\\system32. I thought that was the only file that needed to be in the path.

You can use NetFoss with Doorway to run any DOS Console software remotly. Be sure to use the door.sys FOSSIL mode (SYSF) in Doorway.
