Hi,
Am running Usurper on my system (Renegade BBS software), under OS/2 Warp 4 LAN Server.
Performance is a little sluggish, especially during maintainence, but otherwise works fine.
Check it out if you get the chance - telnet://darkrealms.dyndns.org

welcome to the forum. Yes we are still here, just trying to get around all the spam-bots. Which version of Usurper are you running?. Version 0.20d seems to run slower on maintenance than some earlier versions.
Glad to hear the OS/2 is still being used as well.

I use version 0.19. It is the only stable version of Usurper that will run correctly under OS/2. It runs alongside several other DOS programs on a rather large LAN Server environment.
For some reason, 0.20 does not perform maintenance at all, and is prone to random crashing. My BBS server is being ran in another location (in another city nonetheless!), so I can't afford to have any programs crashing or going haywire. 0.19 runs good enough for me; I consider it to be worthy of \"mission critical\" status.

I didn't catch your BBS link the first time. Was the link for your BBS, tdr.bbs.us, at some point in the past.
I have a link to that address for The Dark Realm BBS. I just checked and it didn't connect. It may the same, but no longer valid.
Either way, I need to go through and update those web pages either way. They get several hits a day, so there are players out there that use them.

Its darkrealms.dyndns.org
My BBS has been online since 1994.
It was never tdr.bbs.us, so that must have been somebody else with the same name of DarkRealms BBS.

That's great that you have been able to be online that long. Thank you from the Usurper community.
As I have stated in another thread, I'm updateing the tel-netable Usurper site links on my website.
Would you like for me to put a link there for your system.
No charge or anything, but I try to get the approval of SYSOP's before linking. Some SYSOP's prefer to NOT be linked.
I am really only interested in Usurper sites, so I don't care how many other games or extras the sites have,
unless there is a subscription, which I would mention.
Versions of Usurper running are my primary information, and Classic or New mode.
Let me know if you would like be linked or not.

Yes, by all means, list my BBS on there
I think I'm running in Classic mode.

At least I think I have it set to Classic mode.

Eh, got in, played a bit, it's yeah... in New/Not Classic mode. The 99 Dungeon fights is nice. Just a few complaints though:
The NPC's were messaging me constantly and caused me to seize up in the weapon shop, so I had to X the window to get out.
It runs incredibly slow, man. Unless that's just me. I think one fight with 2 Punks, a Theif and a Beggar took well over a minute.
But I like Classic mode. All that armor crap is too aggrivating to replace if you lose a fight. I just wish in Classic mode that you could pick up weapons/armor in the dungeons and sell them.

To ignore the NPC chatter, Press 'S' for status, then 'C' for yur configuration, then set your 'ear, (don't remember the exact option) to Quiet. Tha'l let you ignore all the chatter.
I agree does seem a little slow, and as I found out last night it will boot you out when your daily time is used up:)
