Raising character hps ?

Hello
A friend of mine and I both have characters on a usurper team, both which were alchemists. One was a human, the other an elf. When both alchemists were level 50, there was a hp difference between the two of them that was well over 100. Up until level 50, both characters were using Akrappa as their master.
We have had a hard time figuring out what happened differently between the two characters. Even when neither is using a cobra dagger (or any other hp-increasing weapon) the hp difference is there.
What can we do with the elf to increase his hitpoints? He has the fewest hps of any level 50 character on the board (306 hp) - in fact there are level 39 characters on the same game with many more hps.

hayle thar mantazz and welcome ta de forum. aye dydst wayte some ta see ifn others myght comment more clearly, but pears not. aye shall have Charles cypher fer me.
You have presented a very good question, with sufficient information with which to investigate the answer. As you have surmised the Human & Elf should be real close on Hitpoints at level 50 IF both have used Master #1 Akrappa up to that point. The Human Alchemist begins life with 15 Hitpoints and the Elf Alchemist starts with 12 Hitpoints. Akrappa gives both of these characters 3 more Hitpoints each level they advance. Therfore, the theorectic hitpointa at level 50 for the Human Alchemist would be 15 + 49*3 or 162 Hitpoints. This DOES NOT including any Weaponry/armor added hitpoints. The Elf Alchemist would be but 3 Hitpoints lower at 159 Hitpoints, as you expected they would be.
Lenny and I have never seen any magical drinks in Orb's bar that add Hitpoints. The Steroids shop adds Strength. We seldom if ever deal with any of the drugs, so that may or may not positively affect Hitpoints. There is but one place I am certain you can add extra Hitpoints, That is at the wishing well in the dungeons, and probably where your difference of 100 Hitpoints arise from. The Well gives a random amount of Hitpoints each time used(Generally once a day played), so if your two characters played for say 30 days/times and one wished for Hitpoints and the other something else, the 100 Hitpoint difference would easily be established. You state the Elf Alchemist as having 306 basic Hitpoints at Levelk 50, thus it might be the difference in random increases as well between the two. I would consider getting the 1,500,000 Gp and go with Master#9 Asanga, but that would only get 1 more hitpoint per level increase. Remember too that Hitpoints are not always everything. Our old friend Herb Tea completed with barely any abilities. But then he did not play an orthadox game either.
We hope this helps. If others have different theories(facts) or explanations, type them out here in the forum.

Thank you Lenny
You largely told me what I expected to hear, which actually confuses me a bit more. I had neglected to say that everytime my characters find the wishing well, regardless of how I am playing them, I always have them wish for hitpoints.
Now I just need to figure out how to get the poisons to really deal out heavy damage. I used to play this game more years ago, and I recall having been able to hit for \"extreme\" damage (well over 1,000 hps) using the alchemy potions.

Your question did make me wonder if even the well treated characters differently. Sooooo... lenny has been running a group of differently raced Alchemist thorugh the dungeons. It does appear the stronger races average more gain in HP thee. BUT WE CAUTION, this is PRELIMINARY at best. Our test set is 13 dungeon fights a day. We have seen that NOT all characters get a chance at the WELL everyday, unless We "CHEAT" and add more dungeon fights via the SYSOP EDITOR. My intention is to run about 10 Alchemist through 25 days of play, recording the results each day. All are evenly equiped, and also left at level ONE and going to Dungeon level ONE. If I definitely see a pattern, I may as well repeat race/class tests to check or repeatablity.
Any comments or suggestions are WELCOME..
as to the Alchemist Guild, go to Shady Shops Row & then to A)lchemists Heaven.. You have to be at least a Level 15 to Join.

That was neat to see, I thank you for the time you put into your answer.
If you get your alchemists up to high levels, please let me know. I am still searching for the poisons that I remember of days gone by. I have an alchemist of level 73, who is not dealing out damage the way I remember. Using the strongest poison he can buy only gets his damage up to around 750 - 800 hps. I thought there was before a way to get alchemists into the 1000+ range.
And on the same note, I noticed that there are only 5 or 6 poisons in the secret order, the most expensive of which is $325k. It then ranks as \"deadly\". However, as time goes on and characters further progress, more poisons become available in the regular alchemist guild. I see poisons up to 9.2M gold now, but they also rate as \"deadly\" and do the same damage.
Am I missing something here? I'm not sure what then is the purpose of these poisons.
