Easy.
If you check the daily news you will almost certainly find that all of the top 5 players that have excessive hitpoints, also almost daily attack the supreme being, and either lose & die, re-enter(number of resurrections per day) repeat. The one variant is they might not actually meet the supreme being, but simply disconnect.
If they disconnect, I would consider it a cheat.

The key here is they drink the potion and probably 75% of the time gain additional permanent hitpoints. There is a limit on how many they can gain, but as I quickly recal something on the order of 80,000 HP is what I've seen last year. The supreme being's hitpoints and strength is calculated according to the attackers hiit points and strength. The more player hitpoints the harder the supreme being hits. just as an aside, the players editor that the SYSOP has access will not allow settings for this in excess of 32k.

Probably an area to be "fixed" in a future version.

Lord Sargeras in our game had 500,000+ hitpoints before he committed suicide. According to him you have to work really hard for the first 50,000 - 70,000ish hitpoints. After that the game will start to get \"flaky\" and the Supreme Being battle will start dropping you from the game the instant it starts.

Example:

You - 70,000 HP...

Drink potion...

You - 70,500 HP...

You encounter the Supreme Being!

You press (a)ttack.

-Dropped back to \"Play Usurper\" menu-

You enter the game again, do the Supreme Being fight again, etc. Once you get to that point you never die and you can rack up hundreds of thousands of hitpoints in one day if you have the time and the willpower. But getting to 70,000 hitpoints will take you many many many days of using ALL your deaths on the Supreme Being.

I'll take stab here. Jakob could probably confirm. Given that hitpoint range there is the number of hit points when multiplied may cause a variable over run, tus the routine doesn't know what to do with the beings strength. Therefore it drops(hopefully cleanly) back to the menu.
Now before others start yelling, I can tell you as a programmer, back in 93 & 94, no one would have ever concieved anyone would ever even have more thatn 1000 hitpoints or 1000 healing potions.
Everything required a storage variable, and to keep things from using too much memory on those old 4mb computers( My first commercil built computer, originaly had 16Kb of memory), you don't initialize variables for trillions in value. And just importantly, you don't check these values(that check takes memory space as well) for problems. I believe one of the first of these was the 2 billion gold limit. It was never thought anyone would in anyway acquire that much gold. well in the mid 90's one ibug allowed the cheaters to bomb someone elses bank, forcing them into negative gold. Meantime those in the know and ability, just kept there gold acconts careful to prevent the negative balances for them. Jakob fixed that as soon as he could, but with the size and complexity, the are hundreds of areas that might be taken advantage of. Just think of it as a vary small Microsoft windows. We know thee are never any bugs in it that are taken advantage by someone or other.

OK, I'll git offa my soapbox.
Ever body have a great birthday party for my saviour, Jesus. Others happy hannaka or whatever else..

The NPC's gave me my second shot on GED's Usurper .20. I was letting my character fade into nothingness when the D-Dude/Daksoh/K-Loco thing was going on... I couldn't get ahead because they'd always jack my stuff. Went back on, beat up some dogs, leveled up once, went to the dungeons and made a ton of money off of found weapons and equipped the stronger ones, stole a few mil from the NPC's... I'm back in the game! Woo!

Just curious, Did all the bad guys disappear at the same time, whence they became the vanquished? I would suspect that they may have all been the one and same "human p-player" with multiple accounts.
Glad to hear that choping a few NPC's gave you a good chance to play again.
As to the finding of good items in the dungeons, I've seldom found any.
Most gaming, I just use the best combo of equipment I can buy at the armory, and maybe a pair of #99 $1mil Granadus Axes. I generally use Master #9, always wish for Hitpoints, and load up on the drinks at Orb's. That and carefully manage my bank. Most all the other is just dressing.
But that's only one way of thousands one can successfuly play the adventure.

No, I'm pretty sure they were all just a bunch of assholes that were fixed on keeping everyone down for their own amusement. It got to the point that I wouldn't even bother playing until I found the .19 Classic game on GED and went to that.
