Vortex Down?

This saddens me...

Although it'll give Suicide a chance to screw off for a bit and stop trying to overthrow Chuck and topple me at the same time.

I was last able to connect there about 1PM CDT on 8-22-07.
Was unable to connect all day 8-23 and this morning 8-24.
Hope it is something simple, like everybody on vacations, and the system crashed due to a local temporary power failure. But Nobody home to restart the system, while they are on a world cruise.
I'll check again his evening.. Hope you don't lose too much Xb.

Still down... damnit, first GED/Darkside Research shuts down, then Paradigm, now Vortex is down... at least I still have TBird's.

yeah the drive the board was running on basically crashed, but we were able to restore most of the files and data, and with older copies i had i filled in the blanks, and now i've even got the old file archive back online so everything should be in good shape.

we will be going down for a portion of the day on thursday oct 11. I am moving from my apartment into my new house. my IP could easily change. if it does, I'll post it here somewhere.

So I wanted to play again and I'd really like to play on the Vortex. Is it still up? I didn't seem to be able to connect to it.

I've got the board running off of my server with its RAID5 plus it gets backed up to other computers across the network so rest assured any time it's down it's a temporary thing. I plan on keeping the board up indefintely.

It must be obvious by now that I have no Thanksgiving plans...

Btw, hope everyone likes the new menu style and themes and what-not. My early Christmas present to everone... Vortex 2008!

Sure looks like it. I was unable to connect there yesterday or this Wednesday Morning. I recall it was down a day or so when he replaced the two usurper Games with the "latest v0.17something". So, your guess is as good as mine.

Around this time last year I played a lot of Usurper on Vortex under the name Mara'akate, always usually teamed up with Chuck. Once the board totally redid Usurper and once one person won the whole game reset and it sort of annoyed me, sometimes I'd get pretty close so I stopped playing for a while. I got in the mood to play it again tonight and it appears vortex is down or gone? If it's gone where is a board with a higher number of players and activity on usurper?

I really hope vortex BBS is still around, nobody else was modding their usurper

It's been down just for the past couple days, but is still around in the larger sense as far as I know. I've been playing there a while now and it seems to go down for a couple/few days every few weeks or so.

Incidentally, the game was just reset last week or the week before with a lot of modifications to the gameplay, so it's kind of interesting right now.

Do you remember what the new modded version of Usurper is? Many liked(somewhat anyway) his modded 0.20 after he tweaked the upper levels. Then he modded a version of 0.17. I am curious as to what version the latest MOD is on.
If I'm incorrect as to my information, please let me know.

I was able to log onto Vortex this AM. I checked the version of Usurper running there and it is v0.20d in NEW mode with dungeon difficulty set to 10. I would also asume it is heavily MODDED as well.
