I havent played usurper in like a decade so what little i knew then is long gone... so...
Anyone have a clear idea on the combat mechanics? like How can I at say level 70 with weapons and armor both 1500+ or even at 2k at one point or another, get killed by an npc who is level 100 but their weapon/armor is maybe... 200 or less. ?
Also how does a player become immortal?

Ha! Should've known I'd run across you here. You've actually asked the exact same question that was on my mind--how to become immortal. I hope it's something that just pops up once we hit lvl 100. I really need to find some closure so I can quit playing this game every single day.

aye will try to answer scroll's second question, and Maithyas' question first as it is the simplier question. Neither question is stupid, nor necessarily limited to Newbie's. I had been playing probably a year the first time I met the Supreme Being. When the game only allows 15 dungeon fights a day, progress can be real slow.Maithyas wrote:Ha! OK, here goes. As you probably know, you can play up to 10 levels deeper than your actual skill level. The Supreme Being is located at level's 101 to 110, which are all the same. There are three doors, you choose a door, each one is guarded by a character, that depending upon your darkness or chivalry may help you if you give them something. Once you get past them, you find a potion, which you may drink, if you dare. It's about a 50% chance the potion will take you to 1 hitpoint remaining temporarily, or increase your permanent hitpoints. If you think you barely have a chance of beating the being, and truely want to, take a team with you, so the Supreme Being has someone else to attak and kill. His Hitpoints are approximately 9 times whateveer your strength is, and his strength is based upon your hitpoints. So if your Strength is 500, his Hitpoints will be 4,500 Hitpoints. But he has No healing potions. Hopefully you do. Depending upon your other attributes, he can damage you 97% or so in a single blow., or kill you outright.
Use your best tactics to defeat him. Once you have defeated him, you get a choice, depending upon the System Configuration. Some system's allow you to have both an Immortal and a Mortal character, some only one. So you want the Immortal, answer B)ecome a God. If you don't, answer R)est in Peace. So you ansered B, you ascend and are asked what name do you want to be known by? This will be your Immortal Name, Choose carefully. You cannot use Manwe! You are then in heaven, and can press ? for your menu. when you are logging in, you press E)nter as God, instead of P)lay. Good luck.
I will answer the Other question seperately, about how can an NPC kill a 70th level with lessor armor and weaponry.
BTW; I changed the topic title, as there was nothing stupid about the questions

Re: Newbie questions..
OK, a little on your First question, but first a thought. Are you playing on a telnetable BBS, where I could see the two characters? Post me a message, if you can. If Not, can you send me the spec's on the characters involved. Hit Points, Race/Class, Strength, Defense, Mana, Agility, Weapons, Armor, healing potions.scroll wrote:Anyone have a clear idea on the combat mechanics? like How can I at say level 70 with weapons and armor both 1500+ or even at 2k at one point or another, get killed by an npc who is level 100 but their weapon/armor is maybe... 200 or less. ?
The reason I ask, is a level 100 NPC can have as few as 60 Hp, and as many as 1200HP. His strength can be the same. depending upon his class, he might use a soulstrike of 600 points, that will liey take out a 400Hp Barbarian for instance. For instance, on one BBS where I play, my character is a level 91, and my defense and strength are so high, it matters little wether I have weapons or armor. That said, however, this is a character I have developed very carefully, using Orb's Bar, the best Master for my style of character, the wishing well, the gym and everything I know to legally help this character, plus my character poisons an opponent for additional damage. Can he be beat, certainly under the right conditions. Some people probably think I cheat, but I use nothing anyone else can't freely use, except I have been playing since late 1994, having played every version release, and many beta versions Not released.
I look forward to hearing from you, so I can be more specific in my answer.

Re: Newbie questions..
I think you more or less explained how right there, i never really looked at the npc strength, just the hitpoints and gear. Also tried to only engage non fighter types, though i did feel depressed when a jester killed me in one hit.
If you want Maithyas and I play on planet unicron bbs, 74.213.177.247:23. Dont get me wrong, i have a good kills to death ratio, atleast in my mind, but it was the few times when like a sage killed me.
Next time around i wont be a human warrior

Great, I'm glad I was able to help. Human Warrior's aren't necessarily a bad choice. One of the reason's I chose Usurper over L.O.R.D, is my opinion, most all race/combinations can be successfully played, IF you know your characters Strengths and Weakness's and play accordingly. There is NO Cookie Cutter way to play just any character, each is unique.
