help with level masters

I've recently started playing the game again for the first time in a decade.

I love the new features inthe game, but I'm having trouble figuring out the difference among the level masters.

If someone could give me a short synopsis of the benefits of each master, or at least suggest the best master for a troll barbarian and a hobbit jester, it would be much appreciated.
